The Patch pointing and Masonry repairs to the Old Army Barracks

The Patch pointing and Masonry repairs to the Old Army Barracks, Ennis, Co. Clare- August 2014

The Old Army Barracks in Ennis is situated on the riverbank of the Fergus River.

The building had lain empty for years and had been in a poor state of repair. Mid West Lime Ltd won the contract to carry out the patch pointing to the external facades and to repair the rubble masonry that had been removed or failed over the years. Masonry replacement was called for to an external chimney also. This involved bracing some unstable masonry removing modern chimney flues and reinstating the masonry.

Mid West Lime were subcontractors to PJ Meaney Construction.
