Raking out and re pointing of St Bridgets Church, Templebraden, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick

Mid West Lime were the nominated subcontractors for this project, the raking out and re pointing of St Bridgets Church, Templebraden, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick

This project involves the raking out of inappropriate sand and cement pointing that is not original to the structure and re pointing in a mortar that matches the original mortar.

There was extensive stone replacement and repairs to the Steeple and Belfry. The top of the steeple had to be dismantled and taken down to ground level to carry out essential repairs to the stone.

Over the years unsuitable pointing had caused excessive dampness to the interior of the building and to the masonry fabric of the building. The new lime mortar has begun to help the fabric of the building to dry out.
